Frequently Asked Questions
The manual scrub wand is a good cleaning tool for cleaning lightly soiled carpet. When cleaning more heavily soiled carpet, the wand becomes a ‘beast of burden.’ Cleaning results depend upon the strength, stamina, and technique of the person working the wand. Cleaning heavily soiled carpets with a scrub wand is ‘hard labor.’ The repetitive motion of scrubbing back and forth is extremely strenuous and fatiguing. An individual can not scrub long enough to effectively clean your carpets.
First and foremost the Rotovac 360i is an electric power scrubbing tool. Comparing the Rotovac 360i to a wand is like comparing a skill saw to a hand saw. We have converted a back and forth manual task to a much easier and more efficient rotary mechanized operation which makes more cleaning passes per minute than is possible with a manual scrub wand. In addition, the cleaning passes are from all directions rather than just back and forth. This is what produces better cleaning results for you.

Do you have pets that like using the piece of furniture? Do you sit on it with soiled clothes occasionally ? If the answer is yes to these, then you should look at cleaning them along with your normal cleaning time of your carpets. But as a general rule our company recommends that you have your upholstery cleaned every other time your carpet is cleaned. Example: if your carpets get cleaned every six months, your upholstery should be cleaned once a year.

Will you remove all my stains?
Let me start by saying that this is the hardness question to honestly answer. Note I said Honestly!!! You will see carpet-cleaning ads that promise, “they will remove even the toughest Stains Guaranteed”. So lets start by defining the difference between a SPOT and a STAIN:
• Spot: Is any foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) that is on or around the carpet fiber, and can normally be removed by standard cleaning methods.
• Stain: Is foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) on the carpet that has penetrated (‘soaked into’) the fiber and has changed the color or damaged the fiber itself. Stains are not usually removable by standard cleaning methods. Some stains may be very difficult or impossible to remove. If the stain is completely removed and has damaged the carpet fiber, the carpet fiber will be replaced with another problem. Color variation. This is where a stain has damaged the carpet to a point that it will leave behind a lasting mark. Have you ever spilled something on your shirt, blouse, or pants and when you went to wash it you used some spot removing agent. When the item came out of the dryer the spot was removed but the color of the garment was different in that area. For further detail information, please see our section on Spot Removal.
Should I have a fabric protector applied after cleaning?
Yes, Some manufacturers even require it as part of the warranty on the carpet. But most carpet manufacturers recommend that you reapply protector after professional cleaning to restore the original stain resistance. Notice we said stain resistance, not stain proof. Remember what we said about a Stain. Fabric Protector will help guard against stains and make them harder to damage the fiber, and also makes the carpet much easier to clean next time. With a fabric protector when you spill something or a pet has a mishap and you catch it early enough, it should be completely removable by using the right process.
Does your process restore the original feel of my carpet?
Yes, in most cases. Lets face it, carpets do wear out eventually or show signs of wear. Our process leaves your carpet fresh, clean, residue free and soft to the touch. How your carpets will look will depend on the age, and how well they have been maintained as we have mentioned already.
My carpet is really old, should I replace it?
With the cost of replacing carpet being as expensive as it is today, it is always best to try having the carpet professionally cleaned first. It is far less costly and may make a world of difference. Give us a call, and we will tell you up front after inspecting weather it will make a difference or not.
